Bijelic, Nikola
of Amherst, New York.
Nikola moved to the United States from a war-torn Yugoslavia in 1997
to provide a better future for his little family of three. Upon coming
here he immediately threw himself into work and helping the other
newcomers in guiding them through the new rules and ways of life
here in the US. His door was always open to everyone, and he was
always there to help or step-in whenever anyone asked. His love
for his family was always abundant, he never left his wife Nada's side
even during her long health battle stemming from a brain tumor. You
always knew when you saw Nikola or Nada the other was there as well,
and you could almost bet on it that their daughter was more than likely
nearby too. The three of them were truly inseparable until his very last
day on this earth. Unfortunately, Nikola lost a very short battle against
an incredibly aggressive liver cancer on January 18th. He passed surrounded
by his loving wife Nada and his daughter Nikolina He was a stoic, intelligent,
kind, hardworking family man. He will be missed by many relatives and friends
near and far for he touched many lives during his short time on this side
of heaven. May he rest eternally and may his memory live on in those he
loved. Family and friends may attend a wake service on Wednesday, January 22nd.
